For the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE), I monitor and evaluate two large-scale living lab research projects within the SWEET program: SWICE and LANTERN. Both projects are part of Switzerland’s broad efforts to accelerate the energy transition and achieve the climate goals of the national Energy Strategy 2050.
SWICE (Sustainable Well‑being for the Individual and the Collectivity in the Energy transition) investigates how sustainable lifestyles and behavioral changes in housing, mobility, consumption, and food can contribute to energy savings and well-being, under the guidance of a consortium of universities and partners through Living Labs in Switzerland.
LANTERN (Living Labs Interfaces for the Energy Transition) focuses on co-designing, testing, and scaling up interventions for a decarbonized, resource-efficient society through transdisciplinary collaboration between science, policy, technology, and society.
In my role, I am responsible for monitoring and evaluating the project processes and results. I analyze progress reports, performance against objectives, and the effectiveness of Living Labs, and translate these into clear evaluations and recommendations for the SFOE. This supports the client in gaining insight into what works, what needs adjustment, and where opportunities lie to strengthen impact in Switzerland’s energy transition.
