Welcome to Over de Hobbel, my place where nature, learning, and transition come together. Here, I am working on establishing a food garden, a herb-rich area, and a food forest, drawing inspiration from the principles of nature: cooperation within ecosystems, succession, resilience, and circularity.
By observing how nature organizes and develops itself, I explore how these insights can help with human and societal transitions—a form of practical biomimicry.
In addition to gardening, I organize education and workshops on topics such as food forests, herbs, climate transition, and nature-oriented living. Teams, groups, and children can learn én experience here: from making herbal salves and tinctures, to full moon celebrations, living with the seasons, children's witch circles, and annual festivals such as midsummer.
I have completed training with the Wolderse Witch and summer schools at Het Kruidenrijk, where I learned in depth about herbs, rituals, magical nature-based practices, and seasonal wisdom. I bring this knowledge into the activities and workshops I organize here.
Over de Hobbel is a place of learning by doing and doing by learning. Here, we connect practical experience, ritual, and natural wisdom, so that people can take insights from nature into their work, collaboration, and personal development. It is an invitation to discover, creëate, and be inïspired by the wisdom of the natural world.
There are different types of projects, from food forests to IVN children's witch circles
The food garden and the food forest form a living learning environment where visitors can discover how nature, biodiversity, and human activity are interconnected.
Learning by doing and doing by learning are central. In a food garden, herb-rich environment, and food forest, visitors experience how living with nature, natural processes, and cooperation within ecosystems lead to new insights and inspiration.
