Circular Design Teams
From Linear Design Chains to Circular Design Teams was a practice-oriented RAAK research project at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences, carried out within the research line Networks in a Circular Economy. The project investigated how collaborations within the construction sector can be transformed from traditional, linear design chains into circular design teams that are better equipped to address the complexity of circular construction and sustainable design. In this context, partners at multiple locations in the Zwolle region worked together with students, experts, and practice partners to explore innovative ways of collaboration and co-creation.
In my role as an expert in circular transition and learning, I have contributed to the learning within this project and support the development of a canvas full of methods that enable design teams to reflect together and gain insight into the organizational and social conditions necessary for successful collaboration.
The project provided valuable insights into the transition from linear to circular design practices and contributes to the development of learning networks and methods that are scalable to other regions and sectors.
