Workshops and team days with and in nature

At Over de Hobbel, everything revolves around learning by doing and doing by learning. My place is a food garden, rich in herbs and a food forest, where visitors can experience how living with nature, natural processes, and cooperation within ecosystems can be a source of inspiration.

We also organize workshops for personal growth é and societal transitions. Here, we explore how natural principles such as pioneering, succession, resilience, and cooperation can support collaboration, leadership, and system change.

At this location, I also organize workshops, team days, and educational sessions for groups, organizations, and teams. We learn about food forests, herbs, and nature-based living. Activities vary from making herbal salves, teas, and tinctures, to full moon celebrations, living with the seasons, children’s witch circles, and annual festivals such as midsummer.

These days are designed to connect teams and groups, stimulate creativity and imagination, and help participants discover how learning from nature can be applied in their own practice. Over de Hobbel is a place where practice, ritual, and natural principles come together, and where inspiration for personal é and societal change becomes tangible.

Moon & Year Celebrations

In these workshops, we work with the rhythms of nature and the moon. During moon celebrations, the different phases of the moon—such as new moon and full moon—are central, serving as moments for stillness, intention, release, and growth. The moon invites us to feel what is present and to consciously reflect on inner processes.

In addition, we celebrate the seasonal festivals such as Beltane, Midsummer, and Midwinter and other seasonal moments. These celebrations mark the transitions throughout the year and help us move with the energy of growth, blossoming, harvest, and rest.

Rituals are an important part of both workshops. They are simple, meaningful, and attuned to the moment: think of working with symbolism, natural materials, herbs, intentions, and shared moments of reflection. The rituals help to deepen experiences and consciously anchor them.

Herbs & Natural Care

In these workshops, you will learn to work with herbs and natural ingredients, making use of plants from the garden and the immediate surroundings as much as possible. You will discover which herbs can be harvested when and how to do this in a respectful and conscious way.

The workshops are often combined with foraging walks, during which we go out into nature together to identify, collect, and learn about the properties of herbs. Afterwards, we process the harvest into salves, oils, tinctures, and shower smoothies.

In addition to practical knowledge, there is attention for slowing down and connecting with nature. This way, you will go home with homemade products and with the confidence to start working with local herbs yourself.

Biomimicry & Learning from Nature

In these workshops, we use biomimicry as a method to look at issues from a new perspective. Nature serves as our teacher: ecosystems, plants, and animals show us how they deal with change, collaboration, leadership, and resilience.

Through observation, experiential exercises, and reflection, we explore how natural principles can be translated into daily life or work. What can a flock of birds teach us about collaboration? How does a forest demonstrate that leadership can shift and be shared? And how do natural systems deal with scarcity or tension?
